Leh Ladakh India Trip : VISA and Packing

VISA

There are two options of application in getting India Visa, regular visa and e-visa.

First, the regular visa. The required documents for regular visa application:

- Passport (current one as well as old one)
- Signed application form from online visa application for regular one.
- Photographs (two, 5 x5 cm, one of them pasted on the form
- Travel itinerary - Ticket and accommodation confirmation
- Print out saving/checking account the last three months

For regular visa application, there are three applying process:

- Apply online (to secure online application saves time and check status online)
- Submit documents (visit Indian embassy office or Visa collection center in your country, submit required documents for visa application, interviewing about the trip such as when and duration of travel, photos and fingerprints records, payment)
- Receive visa (from Indian Mission/visa collection centre about two days after doc submission but could depend on each embassy)

Second, E-visaE-visa is eligible for some countries (about 113 countries) and allowed on 25 airports and 3 seaports in India. E-visa is processed and issued electronically and sent to our e-mail, then the biometric data will be taken on the airport once arrived in India as well as the actual visa will be stamped in our passport. In this case, I applied e-Visa for e-tourist visa due to efficiency, it get me saving more time and energy, because I'm from different town from Indian embassy location. You must visit and apply at the https://indianvisaonline.gov.in to avoid any scam from other unofficial ones.

The documents for e-Visa are much more simpler than regular, check for more details on https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.

The docs you should prepare are:

- Scanned photo, PDF format, min 10 KB - max 1 MB, 5x5 cm or 2x2 inch, with plain light color or white background.
- Scanned passport, PDF format, min 10 KB - max 300 KB.
- Visa fee $48 (for Indonesian).

While for e-visa application, there are four applying process:

- Apply online (fill the form, upload photo and passport page). Make sure you fill the form correctly, check it out before print it.
- Pay visa fee online (using debit or credit card) - Receive visa online (visa will be sent to your email)
- Print e-visa and carry when you fly to India (make sure you print the whole page content right, bring some print out copies, and don't forget to bring soft copies too in your mobile phone)

Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 6 : Road Trip to Pangong Tso

Pangong Tso The journey from Leh to Pangong Tso takes approximately 5-6 hours long, we departed from the office of Indian Himalayan Expedition travel agent around 8 am as usual . Before leaving, Kak Nina and I bought a large supply of bananas and bottled water. Our shared taxi partners are slightly changed from the ones to Nubra Valley trip the previous day, we met two additional friends of David from Taiwan who just arrived and a friend from Jammu, Jaspreet, who had made a prior appointment from the trip advisor. Luckily, the driver of the trip this time was the same as yesterday's Nubra trip, Fayaz, with trusted skill without a doubt from yesterday trip experiences. Perjalanan dari Leh menuju Pangong Tso sekitar 5-6 jam, kami berangkat seperti biasa sekitar jam 8 pagi dari depan kantor travel agent Indian Himalayan Expedition. Sebelum pergi, saya dan Kak Nina membeli perbekalan pisang dan air botol besar. Partner share taksi kami sedikit berbeda dari Nubra Valley trip h...

Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 2 : Acclimatization

Welcoming panoramic scene of Indus Formation seen from the plane Local taxi from Leh Airport heading to downtown. Day 2 - Leh Sightseeing: Leh Main Bazaar, Leh Palace. Acclimatization day two. Make Permit. Morning trips from Delhi to Leh with Go Air took 1 hour 25 minutes, we depart from Delhi at 6:40 a.m. and arrive on Leh at 08:05 a.m. Leh Airport, Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, is one of the three highly sensitive airports politically thus the security at the airport is very strict handled by CISF (Central Industrian Secutiry Force), considering that this area is part of the area that close to the border and prone to conflict and terrorism. Outside the airport, we start to bargain the price of the taxi to the local drivers that has been waiting outside the airport, maybe for hours ago. Finally thanks to blog recommendations from the internet, we can know the right price range. We took a taxi to the hotel, or more guest house, still from the recommendation of...

Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 4 : Road Trip to Nubra Valley

Landscape view taken from Khardung La Top Day 4 - Nubra Valley to Leh: via Diskit Monastery. Leh Tour: Shanti Stupa. Yeay! Finally, we could start the road trip today! We had to get ready and gather before 08.00 am, stand by in front of the office of Indian Himalayan Expedition travel tour as a meeting point. Previously we had breakfast at the nearest restaurant, Mentokling Guest House & Apple Garden Restaurant, which was open from morning, well enough for our stomachs so we bought bread and tea, and mineral water for lunch. The two of us together with the three other travelers rent one car with five people and one driver inside with positions 2-3-1. I was in the front left, Kak Nina sat in the middle, two Indian couples newly-wed in the middle, and one Taiwanese (who was actually a group of three with two friends but he arrived first) sitting in the back by himself. The driver was Fayaz, from Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, whose skills are super reliable on the dri...
