Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 1 : Departure

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL)

Day 1 - Delhi to Leh Flight. Check-in Guest House. Acclimatization day one.

The departures time at 1.00 am from Bandung, Husein Sastranegara Airport and arrived at IGI airport at about 9.00pm Indian time, after transit at KLIA for 3 hours and length of journey for 5 hours with Malindo Air, while Kak Nina depart from Changi with Singapore Airlines. Once arrived, I went to transmigration counter for taking care of Visa on Arrival and luckily I could meet Kak Nina there too. The procedures of Visa on Arrival is pretty simple, checking passport, e-visa printing or file, taking photo and biometric data, then you got stamp from the airport officer and it's become real visa. Me and Kak Nina just looking around first inside and discussing if we gonna stay inside T3 airport before transit to T1D but not realizing that we got outside the exit door, and, oh well we can't enter again. what?!?! hahahaa we were losing chance stay there.

The first thing we noticed about Delhi is the weather. The weather outside the airport was so different from inside, it was hot and damn just like Jakarta's weather, but higher temperature. Lol. And well, we were considering to stay at nearest inn but we thought the time was very limited because we have to depart at the morning 6.00pm and it means we have to arrive at the domestic airport around 5.00pm. So we looking for other alternatives such as waiting chair (unfortunately it's full) and airport lounge (unfortunately it's expensive), hahahaha, so we just straight to nearest KFC in front of airport and getting dinner first, and of course Wi-Fi when unfortunately not available, oh well so unlucky of us. We also have difficulty for getting WiFi in airport, we must registered our local number, unfortunately again we don't have local number yet, coz we consider the price didn't worth it coz the coverage not reaching Leh and we only need it for one night transit in Delhi. So, yes that's the first problems we have encountered. So unlucky, huh, lol. Luckily after all those things, the KFC menu was not disappointed, and finally we stay there the whole night until we leave for next transit, going to the domestic terminal T1D for Delhi to Leh flight.

Basically before we decided to stay at KFC, we also considered to stay at the Terminal 1D (T1D) of domestic airport, but after we asking around to local people and officers, they said that the domestic terminal was not recommended and poor to spend the night. However, once we arrived there after taking transit bus, the poor recommendation was very wrong indeed, it's pretty enough for us and more than good, than just outside the international terminal. Well at least there's lots of waiting chairs, not really available coz it's also almost full but yeah kinda enough for light sleep. However, instead of light sleep we were looking around to find money changer. We took a flight at 06.30 am the tomorrow morning from Delhi to Leh, the weather was kinda cloudy. The announcement speaker was not very clear so we almost getting left, but luckily we made it. Well, make sure you really pay attention for it because the announcement was hardly heard clearly. Another one thing, we found that the toilet front sign is so fancy, it makes you easy to find out in a glimpse which one for male and which one for female. We just couldn't stop laughing looking at those. Hahaha.

Another way to differentiate the toilet in a glimpse. lol.

PS: I was surprised finding out my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Delhi with Malindo Air turn out it was a business class because the price was economic standard, probably it was a promo or I was not looking more in detail, I was just surprised in a happy way of course, because it was my first time getting a business class. LOL. The funny thing is it happened accidentally, because yeah normally I won't purchase BC :))) Nice and comfortable, let alone the food, it was great.

Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 6 : Road Trip to Pangong Tso

Pangong Tso The journey from Leh to Pangong Tso takes approximately 5-6 hours long, we departed from the office of Indian Himalayan Expedition travel agent around 8 am as usual . Before leaving, Kak Nina and I bought a large supply of bananas and bottled water. Our shared taxi partners are slightly changed from the ones to Nubra Valley trip the previous day, we met two additional friends of David from Taiwan who just arrived and a friend from Jammu, Jaspreet, who had made a prior appointment from the trip advisor. Luckily, the driver of the trip this time was the same as yesterday's Nubra trip, Fayaz, with trusted skill without a doubt from yesterday trip experiences. Perjalanan dari Leh menuju Pangong Tso sekitar 5-6 jam, kami berangkat seperti biasa sekitar jam 8 pagi dari depan kantor travel agent Indian Himalayan Expedition. Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 2 : Acclimatization

Welcoming panoramic scene of Indus Formation seen from the plane Local taxi from Leh Airport heading to downtown. Day 2 - Leh Sightseeing: Leh Main Bazaar, Leh Palace. Acclimatization day two. Make Permit. Morning trips from Delhi to Leh with Go Air took 1 hour 25 minutes, we depart from Delhi at 6:40 a.m. and arrive on Leh at 08:05 a.m. Leh Airport, Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, is one of the three highly sensitive airports politically thus the security at the airport is very strict handled by CISF (Central Industrian Secutiry Force), considering that this area is part of the area that close to the border and prone to conflict and terrorism. Outside the airport, we start to bargain the price of the taxi to the local drivers that has been waiting outside the airport, maybe for hours ago. Finally thanks to blog recommendations from the internet, we can know the right price range. We took a taxi to the hotel, or more guest house, still from the recommendation of...

Leh Ladakh India Trip Day 4 : Road Trip to Nubra Valley

Landscape view taken from Khardung La Top Day 4 - Nubra Valley to Leh: via Diskit Monastery. Leh Tour: Shanti Stupa. Yeay! Finally, we could start the road trip today! We had to get ready and gather before 08.00 am, stand by in front of the office of Indian Himalayan Expedition travel tour as a meeting point. Previously we had breakfast at the nearest restaurant, Mentokling Guest House & Apple Garden Restaurant, which was open from morning, well enough for our stomachs so we bought bread and tea, and mineral water for lunch. The two of us together with the three other travelers rent one car with five people and one driver inside with positions 2-3-1. I was in the front left, Kak Nina sat in the middle, two Indian couples newly-wed in the middle, and one Taiwanese (who was actually a group of three with two friends but he arrived first) sitting in the back by himself. The driver was Fayaz, from Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, whose skills are super reliable on the dri...
